NVHC maintains a large library collection. Our vision is that NVHC’s library will be a place where people come to get answers to their important questions. This vision was inspired by Ted Smith (z’l) who served as NVHC’s librarian for decades. NVHC maintains a broad and inviting collection of print and media resources on aspects of Jewish thought, practice, history, and experience. Our library may be used by congregants and the community.
Volunteers are currently curating the collection and establishing a modern online catalog. This process is expected to be complete in early 2025. During the curation/cataloging project, lending is temporarily suspended. The library is OPEN and the collection is accessible online even while items are still being inputted. We hope to resume lending of at least parts of the collection by the end of 2024.
The entire collection is broken down into Biography, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Media, and Religious/Reference books. The library also has Juvenile Fiction and Non-Fiction collections. All but the Religious and Reference books will be available for loan.
