Middlescence

mid-dol-ess-ence (like adolescence)

noun

The period in a person’s life between the ages of about 40 and 60; the middle-age period of life, especially when considered a difficult time of self-doubt and readjustment.

Many of us have reached this stage in life when our kids have left home in search of their own independence or remain at home, eating our groceries, while still out and about making their own lives. After years of catering to the offspring, it’s our turn to find our own rhythm with fun, exploration, and socializing.

Let’s do it as a team! Wineries, breweries, hikes, dinners, coffees, game playing, theater – the sky’s the limit because we don’t have to be home for the babysitter.

We are envisioning an outing every quarter or so, where we can engage and play like the old folks that we are not!

Everyone is welcome; no need to stay within specific age parameters. If you have kids, don’t have kids, kids are adults or adult kids want to come with their adult parents, the more the merrier.

Upcoming Events:

Fall Social Hour(s) at Bear Chase Brewery!

Sunday, November 3, 1:00pm

Our next Middlescence event will be November 3 at 1:00pm at Bear Chase Brewery (33665 Bear Chase Ln, Bluemont, VA 20135). The cost will be approximately $12/person depending on how many people come. We are reserving a space that is $250 for 3 hours and we will split the cost amongst all who attend.

Food and drink must be purchased on the premises (we are allowed to bring dessert, so a few of us will bring some sweets). Looking forward to a fun fall gathering! Hope to see you there!
