Join us for a celebration of Torah, learning, and of course, cheesecake! Our schedule for the evening is:
6:00pm – Bagel & lox dinner ($10 per person)
6:30pm – Shavuot service with Torah reading and Yizkor
8:00pm – Cheesecake oneg
8:30pm – Teaching and study
After our Shavuot service, we will move to the multi-purpose room for a festive cheesecake oneg and evening study of the Book of Ruth. We will explore the beautiful story of Ruth, a Moabite woman who found Judaism through the love she felt for her widowed mother-in-law. Given that Shavuot is the day that our Jewish mythology teaches “we all stood at Sinai,” Ruth challenges us to ask how well we are doing with welcoming the newcomer, the novice, and the nervous to Jewish life.
