Together we will explore the rise and fall of the greatest king of Israel, King David. Through a close reading of the Biblical account of David’s life (found mostly in I & II Samuel), we will evaluate why David has such an incredible legacy. The course will also take a deep dive into key characters in David’s story such as Jonathan. Michal, Batsheva, and others. Finally, the series will discuss the role of the monarchy and its legacy in Jewish memory.
