Creating Meaningful Rituals for Unique Life Moments
Taught by: Rabbi Holzman, Cantor Caro, and Rabbi Barrett
Tuesdays, October 17, December 5, January 23, March 26, April 9
6:30-8:00pm, in person and online
Sacred moments are not just the ones designated by calendar and community. We know
that there are many unique moments in our lives, moments of transformation that with
ritual would be grounded in greater meaning for ourselves. Whether it is the moment one
gets a drivers’ license, heads off to college, begins a new job, recovers from an illness,
survives after a divorce, retires from a long career, among so many of life’s milestones,
finding and creating ways to celebrate, observe, and commemorate these signposts of
life brings them into focus and helps us to be fully present to the lows and highs of our
lives.
Each session will focus on a different set of milestones, exploring what might already be
contained in Judaism as well as thinking about ways to develop rituals that would
elevate those moments for us.
