Help Save a Life
One of the members of our community is in need of help. Jonathan Haupt is a young man who has been struggling with Leukemia. He is the son of our congregants Cliff and Anna Haupt.
The Bone Marrow Transplant team at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore is searching for a match to his bone marrow using all the national and international bone marrow and cord blood registries. The likelihood of a match is increased among one's same ethnic grouping. So we're asking any one who might be willing to donate your own bone marrow to please consider getting tested.Â
If you are not a match for Jonathan, you may be a match for another patient out there like him. You can learn much more about the process and what's involved by going to the National Marrow Donor Program website - www.marrow.org.
Please note: Jonathan and his family have set up a website called teamhaupt.org in order to raise awareness about their efforts nationwide to gain more registrants to the bone marrow registry with the hope of saving Jonathan's life and others in the future.
Our NVHC community sends its strength, support and prayers for recovery to Jonathan and his wife Courtney, along with Cliff and Anna Haupt.
