Adult Education/Lifelong Learning
Keeps Jewish learning alive for people of all ages through lectures, films, classes, book discussions, Shabbatons, and Interfaith Dialogues.
Art
Underwrites displays throughout the temple of Jewish art and artifacts
Cantor's Discretionary
At the Cantor's discretion, funds programs and resources for the cantorate at NVHC; provides scholarships, and supports congregants and community groups in need.
Caring Committee
NVHC Cares, our synagogue’s caring program, provides solace and support through difficult times and reaches out during joyful beginnings. NVHC Cares fosters a caring community by connecting with cards, calls, visits, and meals, ensuring that no member is alone whether sick, dying, bereaved, or adjusting to a birth or adoption.
Choir
Enriches NVHC's adult choir, Kol Shirah, by funding honorarium for special guest artists and sound system enhancements.
College Outreach
Allows NVHC to stay in touch with college-age congregants by sending them High Holiday, Chanukah, Purim and Passover baskets while they are attending college.
Ellen Reich Early Childhood Teacher Education Fund
In memory of Ellen (Lehman) Reich. This fund will offset the expenses of continuing education and professional development opportunities for NVHC Preschool teachers.
Fran Gibbs Preschool Scholarship
Gives students an opportunity to be part of our wonderful Preschool program when they might not otherwise be able to afford it.
Library
Expands NVHC's library materials through book purchases, periodical subscriptions, and repairs.
Louis Gold Children's Music
Helps instill a love of Jewish music by subsidizing concerts given by professional artists and by providing training for lay leaders guiding NVHC's youth in music.
Prayer Book
Used for the purchase and repair of NVHC's Siddurim. Most recently this fund helped the Temple acquire sufficient copies of Mishkan Tefillah, the newly created Reform Movement prayer book and Gates of Heaven, the family worship service High Holiday prayer book.
Preschool
Supports the NVHC Preschool in providing a Jewish educational and social environment for 2 - 4 year olds.
Rabbi's Discretionary
At the Rabbi's discretion, funds programs and resources for the rabbinate at NVHC; provides scholarships, and supports congregants and community groups in need.
Religious School
Funds pilot initiatives for education in NVHC's Religious School and defrays the cost of special equipment that assists the faculty in the classroom.
Ruth & Seldon Kruger Fund for Adult Study & Dialogue
In honor of Ruth and Seldon's commitment to Jewish learning and to the NVHC community.
Sam Selden and Donna Dixon Memorial Endowment Fund for Jewish Youth and Community Development
Supports an innovative NVHC learning, mentoring and community development environment to stimulate and encourage post B'nai Mitzvah youth to continue active involvement in the synagogue, the Jewish community and Jewish life in general.
Torah
Provides for the maintenance and repair of NVHC's three Torah scrolls, including one rescued from the Holocaust.
Youth Group
Keeps Judaism vibrant among members of two Junior Youth Groups, Kosher Pickles and JETTY and one Senior Youth Group, NoVTY. The Junior Youth Groups sponsor social events and Tikkun Olam projects, while the Senior Youth Group holds meetings, workshops and social gatherings.
Memorial Plaque
Each $250 donation creates a plaque to be installed on the Sanctuary's memorial boards.
