Fay Weiss

Fay Weiss became Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation's first Administrator in the fall of 1999. She previously worked as a teacher in the NVHC Preschool and later became the NVHC Preschool Administrator and Temple Bookkeeper.

Originally from Rochester, New York, Fay moved to Northern Virginia in 1978. An active member of NVHC since 1979, she has served on the NVHC Preschool Board of Directors as Treasurer and President. Additionally, she has served on the Sisterhood Board as well as chaired numerous Sisterhood and Temple committees.

Fay is a member of the National Association of Temple Administrators (NATA) and active in regional NATA events. She has earned her Senior Membership status of NATA at the National Association of Temple Administrators Institute and is currently enrolled in the Fellow in Temple Administration (FTA) Certification Program.

Fay has attended numerous symposiums on synagogue governance, workshops on synagogue management, finance and Jewish learning sessions. Fay coordinated post-911 security with law enforcement officials and synagogue leadership and played a major role in the completion of NVHC's building expansion and renovation project.

Fay manages all aspects of the facility including membership and community relations, policy administration, financial management, office management and building maintenance. In addition, Fay supports the lifelong learning programs, religious school, life cycle events, fundraisers and special events for the synagogue.
